The following paragraph, from the NEPSSA league officers, provides details about the decision by the coaches of the league regarding the use of "buoyancy" suits.
"The league has banned for all of the 2008-2009 season the use of suits that
demonstrate buoyant properties. These include specifically the Speedo LZR and
Blue Seventy suits, as well as others exhibiting the same buoyant properties.
Nike suits, Speedo's FSII and TYR Tracer are allowed. The league feels that the
price and difficulty in procuring the prohibited suits can create an unfair
advantage for a small number of athletes. Athletes found competing in one of the
banned suits will be disqualified from that event. This rule applies to dual
meets, championship meets and any other competition sanctioned by NEPSSA. The
league will revisit this issue at its annual meeting in the fall of 2009".
